Dear friends, I greet you on the site of the oldest pedagogical educational establishment of Ukraine - Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv national pedagogical university! The University founded in 1874 is the centre of education, science and culture of the north-eastern part of Ukraine. As the oldest pedagogical establishment the university can be proud of its graduates who got love to Ukraine, patriotism, dignity, honour, spirituality while studying here.

The University prepared over 25000 teachers since 1874. Such famous personalities as world cinema genius Oleksandr Dovzhenko, outstanding Russian writer academician S. Serheev-Tsensky, Ukrainian writer and educator S. Vasyl'chenko, Ukrainian politician I. Palyvoda, Belorussian poet and translator Yanka Zhurba, founder of the academic choir "Dumka" N. Horodovenko, writers O. Palazhchenko, P. Klyuchyna, O.Stolbin, academicians S. Shapovalenko and F. Ovcharenko, state prizes laureates Ye. Kvasnykov and P. Ahaletsky, Ukrainian pedagogic sciences academy academician M. Vashulenko and other scientists and culture activists studied at the university.
